  1. "Come fly with me" was the first and probably the best of Sinatra's 3 albums with Billy May. Somewhat oddly for Sinatra this album is a mixture of swing tracks and ballads, normally the albums would be one or the other. The vocals by Frank are on this album are amongst my favourite and Billy May's orchestra is loud and swingin but subtle and melodious when needed. Of course the title track needs no /5(60).
  2. Sinatra’s 'global tour’ kicks off with his intoxicating version of Sammy Cahn and Jimmy Van Heusen’s Come Fly With Me and from India and Peru we move to the equally exotic locations of Blue Hawaii, On The Road To Mandalay and Brazil, the latter an album highlight with its irresistible rhythm and melody/5(60).

  5. Sinatra's first album-length collaboration with arranger Billy May is remembered as a monster swinger, but there are plenty of breathtaking ballads as well. A travelogue album, Sinatra's readings of "Autumn in New York" and "Moonlight In Vermont" are as stunning as the uptempo numbers are exhilarating.
  6. May 's signature bold, brassy arrangements give these songs a playful, carefree, nearly sarcastic feel, but never is the approach less than affectionate. In fact, Come Fly With Me is filled with varying moods and textures, as it moves from boisterous swing numbers to romantic ballads, and hitting any number of emotions in between. There may be greater albums in Sinatra 's catalog, but few are quite as fun as 10/
